Aksel DORUK
Aksel is a partner in the Paris office of Meltem Avocats.
Aksel has been registered with the Paris Bar since 2011 and specialises in international arbitration, business litigation and maritime law. He also advises companies on business law matters, particularly in the drafting and analysis of contracts, especially international contracts.
Trained in Italy and France, Aksel began his career in the international arbitration department headed by Alexis Mourre at the Franco-Italian law firm Castaldi Mourre & Partners, before joining the international arbitration boutique firm Derains & Gharavi and then founding Meltem Avocats in 2018.
Over the years, Aksel has acted in numerous arbitration and state disputes involving a variety of sectors, such as construction, engineering, energy, shipping and agri-food. Aksel is also involved in the enforcement in France of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, particularly against sovereign states, and the seizure of ships.
Aksel is recognized as a “Future Leader” in international arbitration by Who’s Who Legal.
Aksel works in French, English and Italian and speaks Turkish.
Aksel holds a double degree in French and Italian business law from the Universities of Paris I Panthéon-Assas and Florence and a Master 2 in International Economic Law from the University of Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne.
He is co- author of the “Lamy Contrats Internationaux” and Director of the case law chronicle on the Vienna Convention on International Sales Contracts in the Revue de Droit des Affaires Internationales.
