Astrid WESTPHALEN

Member of the Paris Bar and Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, Astrid Westphalen is Counsel at Gide Loyrette Nouel. She advises and represents companies and state-owned entities in both commercial and investment arbitrations in diverse industries, particularly those in the construction, energy, cement and insurance-reinsurance sectors. She handles a wide range of arbitration proceedings including ad hoc arbitrations (such as UNCITRAL) and those governed by institutional rules (such as ICC, ICSID, SAC and CMAP).

Astrid regularly publishes and gives lectures and seminars on international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. After coaching the Paris II University team (2013-2018), she frequently acts as arbitrator for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. Since 2023, Astrid is also a member of the Paris Arbitration Week Organising Committee.

Mother of Constant and Gaspard, Astrid loves the hustle and bustle of Paris just as much as quiet weekends in the forest of Rambouillet, punctuated by bike rides, afternoons by the fireplace and long dinners with family and friends. Astrid also escapes to the Basque Coast whenever she can.
