Jan-Michael AHRENS
Jan is Principal Counsel Litigation of Siemens and responsible for managing major disputes of the group worldwide, focusing on international arbitration and the infrastructure and mobility business.
He holds a doctorate in law (Freiburg i. Brsg.) and an LL.M. from Geneva and Lausanne universities. He has been admitted to the bar in Germany, Switzerland and England & Wales and is an ASA Board Member as well as Co-chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee In-house Group.
Jan started his career as a lawyer in the international arbitration practice of Lenz & Staehelin in Geneva. Having first moved on to advise the pharmaceutical division of Merck KGaA, he then joined the litigation team at Siemens, where he has since held different lead roles for the group’s Infrastructure & Cities Sector and Siemens Mobility. Jan is a frequent speaker on international dispute resolution and continues to sit as an arbitrator.
