Raid ABU-MANNEH
Raid Abu-Manneh is a Partner and Co-Leader of the International Arbitration practice at Mayer Brown, as well as the Leader of the London office's International Arbitration team. Raid specializes in complex cross-border disputes, particularly in emerging markets.
A solicitor advocate, Raid has extensive experience in a wide array of arbitration proceedings under ICSID, UNCITRAL, ICC, DIAC, SIAC, CRCICA, and LCIA rules, conducted in major arbitration hubs such as London, Paris, Geneva, Singapore, New York, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Miami. He also represents clients in the High Court, particularly in matters concerning the enforcement of international arbitration awards. Raid frequently serves as an arbitrator, including in disputes related to large-scale infrastructure projects.
Raid advises a wide range of clients, including banks, contractors, utilities, and other entities across industries such as energy, rail, and infrastructure. His work often focuses on risk management during the design and construction phases of projects to avoid disputes or position clients favorably should disputes arise. He has substantial experience with projects involving international finance and Public-Private Partnerships (PFIs).
Raid has extensive experience in the Middle East, having advised on numerous infrastructure, power, and energy disputes in Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Yemen, and Libya. Fluent in Arabic, Raid also studied comparative Arab commercial law, further enriching his expertise in the region.
He is a sought-after speaker at international conferences and seminars on arbitration and dispute resolution, particularly regarding project disputes. Raid joined Mayer Brown in 2008 and is also conversational in German.
