Rami CHAHINE
Rami is a partner in the Marseille office of Meltem Avocats.
Admitted to the French Bar since 2012, Rami’s practice focuses primarily on arbitration, business litigation and white collar crime.
Capable of working in French, English and Arabic, Rami also developed a particular expertise of disputes involving the Middle East and North Africa.
Rami started his career at the Paris office of leading middle-eastern boutique Hafez, before joining, in 2014, the international arbitration team of King and Spalding.
In 2021, Rami became part of the business and white-collar litigation team of a prominent criminal defense attorney in Marseille, prior to entering the partnership at Meltem Avocats in September 2022.
During these years, Rami has been involved in numerous arbitrations and domestic litigations, relating to a wide variety of sectors, including the energy, construction, real-estate, banking, telecommunications, sport, waste management, agrifood, hospitality and luxury industries.
Rami also regularly advises clients on the enforcement and setting aside of arbitral awards in France, especially in presence of sovereigns, as well as on the recognition and enforcement of foreign judgements in France.
Rami is recognized since 2021 as a « Future Leader » in international arbitration by Who’s Who Legal. According to this publication, clients and peers describe him as an “excellent lawyer,” “knowledgeable, intelligent and highly competent,” and praise his “brilliant mind.”
Rami holds degrees from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas in international economic law, and from the University of Versailles in international arbitration and commercial law. He is also a teaching assistant at the University of Lumière-Lyon II, where he lectures on advanced private international law.
