Vincent FOGARTY


Technical Expert & Author of the Book "Data Centre Essentials"

Vincent is a seasoned consultant with 40 years of experience in construction and engineering projects. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a registered engineer, a Chartered Institute of Arbitrators member, and a mechanical and electrical engineering and quantum matters specialist. He is the author of the Wiley publication Data Centre Essentials: Design, Construction, and Operation of Data Centres for the Non-expert, currently the best-selling book on that subject matter.

With a focus on complex mechanical and electrical quantum issues, Vincent has served as an expert witness in technical and quantum disputes, offering insights on operational costs and loss of revenue in energy consumption and generation disputes. He is skilled in combining engineering expertise with quantity surveying knowledge.

As a Fellow of RICS since 2014 and an incorporated member of the Institute of Engineers, Vincent is well-regarded for his expertise in professional negligence, high-court litigation, and international arbitration. He has been cross-examined by counsel in domestic arbitration and frequently tested on expert opinions in Chambers pre-trial, often leading to settlements before reaching trial. He is regularly appointed as a quantum expert and engineering expert in construction and mechanical and electrical engineering disputes.
