Presentation

“The clearest way to show what the rule of law means to us in everyday life is to recall what has happened when there is no rule of law.”
Dwight D. Eisenhower

Against the backdrop of a rapidly changing geopolitical landscape, Vanguard Disputes is honoured to host Professor Alain Pellet and Professor Makane Mbengue for a critical and thought-provoking debate following Professor's Pellet's keynote speech on the topical question: “Is international law capable of safeguarding the rule of law in a redefined world-order?”

We hope that the key note address and the subsequent debate will prompt international arbitration lawyers to reflect on the role they can play and the responsibility they have in protecting, defending and upholding the rule of law in today’s rapidly changing geopolitical landscape.

The event will be followed by cocktails on our roof top terrace with a 360 view over Paris (weather permitting).
