Investing in Africa: Risks and Opportunities

On the occasion of this year's Paris Arbitration Week (7-11 April 2025), Fieldfisher will host a roundtable discussion on the theme 'Investing in Africa: Risks and Opportunities' as a follow-up to our successful roundtable event of last year on 'Africanisation of Arbitration'.

The event will be an open discussion led by Discussion Leaders covering topics including among others resource nationalism in mining projects, the concept of good faith in construction projects, and how corruption allegations are being raised in Africa related disputes. The topics will be led by a number of Discussion Leaders including African-based and Africa-focused in-house lawyers and arbitration practitioners from Africa-based law firms and organisations. We aim to encourage an open discussion and dialogue, among representatives of diverse organisations, on issues that concern risks and opportunities in investing in Africa and to allow participants to forge relationships with each other.
