Sign inRegime Change and its Discontents: A Guide to Dispute Resolution in a Volatile Age
Presentation
A panel discussion on the impact of regime change on dispute resolution. The term “regime change” is envisioned broadly to include not only traditional political unrest and instability, often linked to African and Latin American states, but also shifts in legal frameworks. Additionally, recent developments in the U.S. and the EU (e.g., Achmea, Komstroy, and ISU v. Commission) illustrate the diverse forms regime change can take and their impact on dispute resolution globally.
We are honored to have George Bermann, a Professor of Law at Columbia Law School and a highly experienced international arbitrator in both commercial and investment arbitration, as a guest speaker at this event.
