AFJE is the leading professional organisation for in-house counsel in France and Europe.
It was founded in 1969, and has made the promotion of this profession its main mission.
In-house counsel, the second largest legal profession after lawyers, are constantly developing their strategic role at the crossroads of law and economics, to the benefit of their companies' competitiveness.
In order to support them in this development, AFJE has set itself the following objectives:
- to provide a forum for training, information and discussion on the major topical issues within the remit of in-house lawyers
- to promote the legal function among all those involved in companies, and particularly among company directors
- to promote the status of in-house lawyers as creators of solutions for businesses in the world of legal and judicial professions
- to be a key contact for French, European and international institutions
