Salas Law Group
About us
Salas Law Group ("Salas", formerly Salas y Asociados Abogados) is a Colombian law firm with over three decades of experience advising public and private clients on complex matters involving infrastructure, transport, maritime and port activities. The firm has built its reputation on deep sector knowledge, institutional credibility, and the capacity to operate across the full spectrum of its clients' matters, public and private, in highly regulated environments. At its core, Salas is driven by one conviction: knowledge, applied with rigor and judgment, transforms the way its clients make decisions and protect their interests.
Salas brings together two practices that complement and reinforce each other: a technical specialization of over thirty years in Maritime and Port Law, built on deep knowledge of Colombian public law, port regulation and the institutional dynamics of working with and against state entities, and a leading international Arbitration and Dispute Resolution practice forged over fifteen years at leading firms in Paris, advising states, public entities and private clients in the most complex cross-border disputes in three languages. Together, these practices allow Salas to offer its clients something rare: expert legal advice that combines genuine sector depth with international standards sophistication, whether the matter calls for regulatory strategy, dispute management or full-scale arbitral proceedings.
The Arbitration and Dispute Resolution practice is led by Guillermo Salcedo Salas, partner and director of the practice since December 2025, who is admitted to practice law in Colombia and in Paris (voluntarily omitted). Having built his career between Latin America and Europe at leading international arbitration firms in Paris, he operates between Bogota and Paris. He has acted as counsel in more than forty international arbitrations for states, state-owned entities and private parties under ICC, ICSID, CRCICA and UNCITRAL rules, across jurisdictional phases, merits, annulment and enforcement of awards. His experience spans infrastructure, energy, transport and other disputes in regulated sectors. He is trilingual in Spanish, English and French, with the capacity to conduct written and oral advocacy in all three languages.
Salas operates with lean, senior-driven teams tailored to each mandate, with the direct involvement of its partners from day one through to resolution. The firm integrates the most advanced digital tools and technologies into its practice under a strict ethical framework, enhancing the quality and precision of its legal work while keeping its clients informed with clarity and control at every stage. Salas works seamlessly with international law firms, technical experts, engineers and economists where required, enabling cost-efficient case management without compromising technical quality or strategic control.
Salas is active in the international arbitration community and contributes regularly to academic, professional and institutional discussions in Latin America and Europe. Its presence at Paris Arbitration Week 2026 reflects a practice that is both internationally connected and grounded in the legal and institutional realities of the region it serves.
