James MACKINNON

James MacKinnon is a Director in Burford Capital’s investment team in London. James works with clients to provide capital for high value and complex commercial and investment treaty disputes around the world. James also manages several of Burford’s investments in international arbitration matters, including sovereign disputes involving recognition and enforcement of awards. James has extensively written and spoken on the use of financial valuation methodologies to improve settlement outcomes, and works with financial institutions and corporates to value their cases and develop appropriate negotiating strategies for settlement talks.
