Martín Chocano is an international and domestic arbitration practitioner specialized in both commercial and investment arbitration.
He has experience in international investment arbitration proceedings administered by the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. His practice focuses on domestic and international arbitration conducted under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and leading arbitral institutions in Peru, involving disputes arising from commercial, post‑M&A, construction, infrastructure, and regulatory matters.
Martín also has extensive experience in complex litigation, having appeared before all levels of the Peruvian judiciary, including the Supreme Court, as well as before the Constitutional Tribunal.
He holds an LL.M. (IBRLA) from New York University School of Law (NYU). He was an International Visiting Advisor at Dechert LLP (Washington, D.C.) and is listed on the Lima Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Center’s roster of national arbitrators. He currently serves as a member of the Young SIAC (YSIAC) Council for the 2023–2027 term.
His work has been recognized, among others, by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, and Lexology Index, which have consistently named him a Future Leader (2024–2026), and by the Client Choice Award for Arbitration – Peru (2024).
