Narayan IYER

Narayan is a Senior Counsel at British International Investment, the UK’s development finance institution. BII has been at the forefront of supporting companies that help developing and emerging countries grow for the last 76 years.

Narayan has three decades of legal experience and specialises in infrastructure and climate investments. He has been involved in various innovative and market-leading solutions across BII’s complex focus markets, helping BII invest patient capital in creating productive, sustainable and inclusive economies.

Prior to joining BII, Narayan spent his career in private practice from trainee to partner at Linklaters. Narayan is a committed globalist having worked in London New York, Singapore and Mumbai. An emerging markets specialist, he speaks five languages and was a founder member, and subsequently head, of Linklaters’ India practice.

Narayan has previously advised governments, banks, corporates, funds and multilateral agencies across project financing, structured lending, acquisition financing, various public and private debt structures and inbound and outbound investments.
