Victoria Burkovskaya is Managing Partner at “Burkovskaya & Partners”, a highly specialized boutique law firm focused on complex cross-border legal matters and high-risk business environments. The firm provides strategic legal support to Russian and international clients in criminal proceedings, sanctions-related matters, international disputes, and regulatory investigations, as well as advising businesses and private clients on risk management, compliance, and asset protection in multi-jurisdictional contexts.
Victoria represents Russian and international clients in complex criminal matters, including cases involving corruption, financial crimes, fraud, tax evasion, money laundering, smuggling, and crimes against public authority. Her practice covers all stages of criminal proceedings, from the initiation of criminal cases and investigative actions to court hearings, as well as advising businesses on criminal law risks, internal investigations, and corporate compliance.
She is known for her strategic approach to complex international matters, particularly those involving sanctions and cross-border legal risks.
Victoria holds a Doctor of Laws degree and is widely recognised as an expert in criminal law, particularly in matters related to business crimes, criminal procedure, and anti-corruption compliance.
In addition to her legal practice, Victoria participates in the reform of Russian criminal legislation and prepares expert opinions for cases before the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation. She is a member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration Working Group on Criminal Law and Arbitration in Paris and Co-Chair of the Public Procedures Centre “Business Against Corruption”.
