Sports Arbitration: Open Talk on Key Issues and Future Challenges
Presentation
As Paris is set to welcome the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes will host an event focused on sports arbitration in the Parc des Princes, the iconic stadium of Paris Saint-Germain.
The conference will start with introductory remarks setting out the topics of the two round table discussions that will follow, namely (i) “Réflexions sur l’arbitrage des litiges sportifs en France” (with French-speaking panelists and simultaneous interpretation in English) discussing the potential desirability and feasibility of submitting sports disputes to arbitration in France, and (ii) “Drawing on 40 years of the Court of Arbitration for Sport: Time for Evolution, Innovation or Revolution?” (in the English language, with simultaneous interpretation in French) addressing the strengths and weaknesses of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), and exploring possible future developments, including any alternatives to the CAS, in the settlement of international sports disputes.
Simultaneous English/French interpretation will be provided by Jus Mundi, the supporting partner of the event.
The conference will be followed by an aperitif.
