Presentation

Join us for an exploration of the evolving landscape of tax-related Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS).

Taking place on 19 March 2024, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Simmons & Simmons’ Paris office, this conference will feature 3 distinguished speakers, namely:
- Ms. Aurélia Antonietti, Senior Legal Counsel at ICSID
- Prof. Arnaud de Nanteuil, Professor of Law at Université Paris Est Créteil and Senior Advisor at EY Société d’Avocats
- Prof. Robert Danon, Professor of Law at the University of Lausanne and Founding Partner of DANON.

The discussions will encompass an analysis of the statistics of tax-related disputes at ICSID, delve into both the procedural challenges and the substantive protections inherent to tax-related ISDS and explore the influence of globally accepted international tax standards on the interpretation of these protections. The event will also provide a thorough overview of current global reforms, including a focus on the global minimum tax and potential frictions arising therefrom with existing treaties and investment arbitration.

The conference will be moderated by Mr. Philippe Cavalieros, Partner and Co-Head of International Arbitration at Simmons & Simmons LLP.
A Q&A session (and cocktail reception) will follow.
