Gibson Dunn Conference and Cocktails | Clean Energy Technologies & Climate Change Litigation: How do these Impact International Arbitration?
Presentation
Gibson Dunn is delighted to invite you to our panel discussion as part of Paris Arbitration Week 2024:
“Clean technologies” and “climate change litigation” are two themes that are having, and will continue to have, an impact on international arbitration. Our expert panel will consider that impact, focusing on questions including: What themes are we seeing in relation to renewable energy – both in the commercial and investment treaty arbitration space? What about the emerging hydrogen economy – what types of disputes are anticipated and how will they be resolved? With respect to climate change litigation, what is the status of the key cases before national and international courts? How might recent and anticipated decisions before such courts impact arbitration (again, both commercial and investment treaty cases)?
Our panel will bring together different perspectives: international arbitration practitioners from Gibson Dunn’s Paris and London offices – including the former President of the European Court of Human Rights, Robert Spano (Partner, Gibson Dunn Paris / London), as well as senior leaders and in-house counsel from European-based energy companies.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Penny Madden KC, co-chair of Gibson Dunn’s International Arbitration Practice Group.
