Presentation

The year of 2025 marks a special milestone in the relationship between Brazil and France, as both nations celebrate the France-Brazil Season. This bilateral initiative, announced by the Presidents of both countries, will strengthen economic, cultural, and academic ties while addressing pressing global challenges.

In line with this historic celebration, we are excited to launch discussions on Arbitration, ESG, and Energy Transition—topics of growing importance as Brazil solidifies its role as a leader in clean energy. Among the largest global economies, Brazil stands out for having the smallest share of fossil fuels in its energy mix, powered by a robust renewable energy sector and an expanding biofuel industry.

In 2025, Brazil will host COP30, showcasing its leadership in sustainability and the global energy transition. Additionally, 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, reinforcing the urgency of advancing climate and energy agendas.

Considering these developments, the growing importance of the underlying climatic issues, and the crucial role arbitration plays in resolving disputes, this event provides a timely opportunity to explore the critical intersections with key stakeholders and discuss how arbitration can more effectively address the challenges and opportunities presented by ESG and the energy transition.
