IN PERSON OPEN IN PERSON OPEN #Arbitration related domestic litigation #Asia

Presentation

Over the past decade, India has sought to revitalize its commercial dispute resolution landscape. In particular, it has promoted arbitration as an alternative to litigation through legislative amendments, the establishment of reputable arbitration institutions and initiatives to foster a pro-arbitration culture.

Yet, what may work in other arbitration jurisdictions may not be readily applicable in the Indian context and along with substantial progress come certain challenges and roadblocks. This event will consider proposed reforms to the Indian Arbitration Act, recent setting-aside and enforcement decisions and an assessment of what remains to be done to achieve India's desired status as an arbitration hub.
