Presentation

Join us for an in-depth discussion of emerging waves of energy contract and infrastructure investment disputes and the challenges of navigating a turbulent policy, economic, and pricing environment. Our expert panel is made up of a diverse cross-disciplinary lineup of energy industry, construction, and quantum experts and expert legal counsel.

Among the topics we will address are:

- In the emerging environment of two-speed geographically differentiated climate policies, trade wars, and energy sanctions (among other sources of turbulence), how will gas and LNG contract disputes evolve, and how can parties navigate complex disputes and uncertainty around contract breach and termination, force majeure, and pricing.

- In the context of investor-state disputes, the methods for accounting for technical/specific project, political and environmental risks in large early-stage oil & gas and renewable energy projects, and how these approaches have been received by arbitral tribunals.

- How the project delay and capex overrun risks on early-stage energy projects requiring significant up-front investment are addressed both by operators managing the projects and in calculating the damages for international arbitration disputes.
