Presentation

Latin America remains a dynamic destination for international investment, but recurring cycles of political change, economic volatility and regulatory reform continue to shape the region’s risk profile. These conditions have a direct impact on how commercial and investment disputes arise, are framed, and ultimately resolved.

This session will examine how volatility and political and economic instability in Latin America influence arbitration proceedings at every stage of the dispute lifecycle. The discussion will also consider the implications of instability for quantum.

This event will explore how to grapple with these issues in Latin America–related arbitrations. Drawing on recent cases and practical experience, speakers will examine how parties, counsel and tribunals can navigate dispute resolution in an environment where legal strategy and political reality are often closely intertwined.
