Presentation

From appointment to award, expedited proceedings are changing the tempo of arbitration.

As arbitration institutions have developed dedicated fast-track mechanisms and users increasingly seek efficiency for lower-value or default-based disputes, rising arbitrators must be ready to adapt.

This session, organized by the Rising Arbitrators Initiative (RAI) for PAW 2026, will explore the unique challenges and practicalities of handling expedited—from appointment processes and institutional practices to time and cost management tips for early-career arbitrators.

The event will begin with a keynote by a leading arbitration figure, followed by a panel featuring:
• Representatives from key arbitral institutions (including voices from the ICC Taskforce on Expedited Procedures)
• Rising arbitrators sharing firsthand experience navigating these cases

The discussion will offer practical insights into how expedited proceedings operate in practice and what they mean for the next generation of arbitrators.
