Decarbonization, Deforestation, and Due Diligence: Synergies Between Europe's ESG Regulatory Measures and Sustainability Efforts in Arbitration

The European Union has made notable strides towards instituting sustainability in its regulatory regime. Recent regulations involve reporting requirements on sustainability impacts associated with business operations and value chains, banning products associated with deforestation, and environmental due diligence obligations, to name a few. Stakeholders within the arbitration community and their clients are grappling with the transition imposed by these measures.

Join the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations (“CGA”) along with a curated panel of experts in a discussion exploring the convergence of these recent regulatory developments with the CGA's sustainability initiatives in arbitration.

Our panel will feature distinguished experts from government, inter-governmental organizations, companies, and arbitrators' chambers engaging in a dynamic dialogue on the progress each sector is making toward reducing carbon emissions and adhering to net-zero commitments. This encompasses voluntary initiatives, and the driving forces behind these measures, as well as mandatory regulations, while highlighting the challenges confronted as entities implement sustainable practices. Our panel will examine how this progress is relevant and closely aligned with sustainability measures endorsed and encouraged by the CGA in the arbitration sphere.

This hybrid event is hosted by Linklaters Paris.
