The PAW / CFA40 / PVYAP Sustainability Event - Environmental Issues in International Arbitration

This year is the first edition of the PAW/CFA40/PVYAP Sustainibility Event, which will focus on environmental issues in international arbitration.
Three experts on the issue, Jessica Crow (Arbitra International and University of Cambridge), Patrick Thieffry (University of La Sorbonne) and Jose Féris (Squire Patton Boggs) will discuss these issues with a specific focus on:
1. Commercial arbitration: climate changes and sustainability disputes, and a focus on the future: what would be the new types of arbitration that may affect companies?
2. Investment treaty arbitration: investment treaty arbitration arising out of the changes of regulations to comply with environmental policies, and extent to which it is a valid defence for States today; discussions concerning the new BITs
3. Environmental issues and international public policy
For each topic, they will discuss the arbitration practitioners’, institutions’ and also academics’ perspective.
