Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Arbitration Centre
About us
The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Arbitration Centre (the OIC Arbitration Centre) was established in Istanbul, Türkiye by an international agreement between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the OIC’s Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, on January 25, 2019, for the settlement of commercial and investment disputes by arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods. The OIC Arbitration Centre promotes international trade and encourages arbitration, mediation and other ADR methods by providing a platform that significantly mitigates the risks, costs, and uncertainties associated with large-scale transactions.
The policy objectives of the OIC Arbitration Centre are:
1) Facilitating the settlement of commercial and investment disputes referred to the Centre involving natural persons or legal persons from the Member States of the OIC and Non-OIC States.
2) Promoting arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms among OIC Member States.
3) Enhancing knowledge and improving skills and expertise in arbitration and other forms of ADR mechanisms.
4) Making submissions on the reform of dispute resolution law and practice in the Member States of the OIC.
