Together, we deliver smarter solutions to our client's most complex challenges, through collaboration.

Collaborative, agile and partner-led: that’s Simmons & Simmons.
A law firm that challenges, creates new possibilities and offers opinion not just option. A law firm that acts as your business partner and works with you, not for you.

We focus on four highly regulated sectors (asset management and investment funds, financial institutions, healthcare and life sciences and technology, media and telecommunications) – using our specialist skills to understand your business, and the forces at play around it. All grounded in exceptional knowledge of the legal detail.

This is how we consistently deliver smarter, more efficient ways to tackle our clients’ most complex challenges.

Established over 35 years ago, our Paris office is the firm's second largest, comprising more than 170 people, led by country head Jacques-Antoine Robert.

Our dispute resolution team is one of the key pillars of the firm’s strategy, the team representing 1/3 of the firm in total. As one of the top litigation firms on the market, this expertise is very valuable to our clients as it has enabled us to provide legal advice at every stage of potential disputes.

The international arbitration practice is led by Philippe Cavalieros and specialises both in investment and commercial arbitration. Philippe has developed a vast expertise in arbitral proceedings, having worked for the Secretariat of the International Court of Arbitration (ICC), as General Counsel for a multinational company, and as lead counsel in private practice. He has been appointed as an arbitrator in more than 30 cases, notably as President of Arbitral Tribunals and Emergency Arbitrator. Thanks to this unique background, the team has insight into every angle of an arbitration proceeding which enable them to offer a 360-degree perspective on international arbitration.

Philippe Cavalieros is widely recognized as an expert in international arbitration matters, features in the Who’s Who Legal as Global Leader, and in Global Arbitration Review (GAR) where he was shortlisted in the “Best Prepared and Most Responsive Arbitrator” category in 2016.

Philippe teaches regularly on investor-state and commercial arbitration, notably at The Hague Academy of International Law and Trinity College Dublin, and has written more than 40 articles or monographs on international arbitration.
