Capucine Davy - du Pac de Marsoulies focuses on international arbitration and complex projects.
Capucine has an in-depth knowledge of the African continent and OHADA’s business and regional laws (WAEMU, CAEMC, etc.). Prior to joining De Gaulle Fleurance, she practiced in a French leading law firm and in one of the leading law firms in Dakar (Senegal).
Capucine regularly acts as counsel and arbitrator in institutional and ad hoc arbitration proceedings and mediations (ICC, ICSID, CCJA, PCA, OHADA, etc.), mainly relating to projects developed on the African continent. She assists her clients from the pre-arbitration phase to the enforcement of the award.
She assists her clients, international and French groups as well as African States, in the context of their investments on the continent in the natural resources (mining, oil & gas), energy and infrastructure sectors. She assists her clients throughout their projects, from design to operation.
She is also a regular speaker at conferences and the author of several articles and books in these fields. She teaches in the framework of the University Diploma of Economic Law in Africa at the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas. Capucine is co-author of a book dedicated to the practice of CCJA arbitration entitled Le Règlement d'Arbitrage CCJA : Commentaire Article par Article, Lexis Nexis.
Capucine is co-president and founder of AfricArb, an association of legal professionals with a shared interest in arbitration and Africa, member of the comex of the Africa-OHADA Commission of the Paris Bar and is also a member of the World Association of Mining Lawyers (WAOML), Arbitral Women, the Association for the Promotion of Arbitration in Africa (APAA) and the Inter Pacific Bar Association (IPBA).
Capucine is listed in the Legal 500’s Arbitration Powerlist – France and also appears in Jeune Afrique top 100 most influent lawyers in the continent, in Décideurs Africa Desk for International Arbitration or in Best Lawyers in France for International Arbitration.
