Jean-Christian HEINTZ

Jean-Christian Heintz has a 25-year technical and commercial experience in Natural Gas and LNG. A seasoned LNG business developer and trader, he started his career in 1998 at Gaz the France, which later became GDF Suez then ENGIE, where he held various technical and commercial roles starting with pipeline infrastructure and ending up with the management of 3 long-term LNG contracts between France and Algeria. As a spot trader, Jean-Christian originated GDF Suez’s first LNG cargo into China in 2010.

In 2013, Jean-Christian was appointed as Head of LNG at DXT Commodities in Lugano, where he made breakthrough spot transactions, including the first Qatari spot delivery into Italy.
In 2019, Jean-Christian enabled Geneva-based SCB brokers to establish a JKM derivatives desk. As a derivatives broker, he successfully passed NFA Series 3 examination.
From 2020 to 2022, Jean-Christian worked with Swiss power producer Alpiq as Head of LNG, achieving fast-track market entrance with LNG cargoes into Spain.

As an independent consultant, Jean-Christian has a 7-year experience worldwide with numerous customers including trading houses, industrials and state-owned utilities.

Jean-Christian is member of Gastech governing body and in this quality, he reviews hundreds of abstracts each year. He is a well known LNG figure on the social media for his weekly digest "LNG espresso" which is now in its 9th season. He holds an engineering degree from Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Etienne.
