Jérémy Jourdan-Marques is a Professor of Private Law and Criminal Sciences at Université Lumière Lyon 2. He is a recognized specialist in domestic and international arbitration law as well as civil procedure. His research focuses on the mechanisms for reviewing arbitral awards and the developments in dispute resolution methods.
He holds a Doctorate in Private Law (Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines). His thesis entitled “State Control of International Arbitral Awards” was published by LGDJ in 2017 and received two awards (Lexavoué and André Isoré de la Chancellerie des Universités de Paris). He is also recipient of the national competitive examination for professorship in Private Law and Criminal Sciences.
Author of numerous publications, Jérémy regularly contributes articles to Dalloz Actualité on French case law in arbitration. He acts as an expert for practitioners, particularly in the context of annulment proceedings, providing strategic and academic expertise for drafting opinions and developing arguments.
He was appointed by the Minister of Justice to join the working group co-chaired by Judge François Ancel (First Civil Chamber, Court of Cassation) and Professor Thomas Clay to draft a report on reforming French arbitration law. The report was published in March 2025 and recommended several hallmark changes, notably the creation of a stand-alone arbitration code.
