Max ROCKALL

Max is a member of Squire Patton Boggs' Global Management Committee and co head of the London arbitration team working from London and Singapore. He is described as an "energy arbitration expert" and "energy disputes expert" (Legal 500), a Future Leader (Partners) in Who’s Who Legal: Arbitration 2024 and a “top practitioner” by Chambers 2026.

Max acts for power and gas utility companies and energy majors in high stakes negotiations and multi-million-dollar commercial arbitrations in relation to LNG long-term supply contracts, involving price reviews, commissioning delays, force majeure, missed cargoes, wilful misconduct, breaches of good faith and RPO standards.

He is also recognised and ranked in the Lexology Index, Chambers 2025 and in Legal 500 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025:

Aside from energy matters, Max is regularly instructed in respect of mining disputes, renewables matters, corporate shareholder disputes, commercial breach of contract issues and general dispute resolution.

He is a partner in the GAR 30 ranked international disputes practice, working on an extensive book of cases involving:

- LNG and gas price reviews;
- Greenfield LNG project issues;
- LNG supply disputes;
- Force majeure disputes in LNG deals;
- Breaches of RPO standards in energy contracts;
- Hardship and change of circumstances disputes;
- LNG cargo delays, flexibility and diversion issues;
- General commercial disputes and breach of contract claims; and
- Shareholder disputes.
