Thara GOPALAN

Thara thrives at the intersection of law, strategy, and dispute resolution. She is an experienced commercial disputes attorney, who has acted as counsel (led and unled) on novel points of law and bet-the-company disputes at all levels of the Singapore courts and in international and domestic commercial arbitrations and mediations, across numerous industries.

She now spearheads the advancement of alternative dispute resolution services as part of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), where she leads the operations and development of the ICDR’s services in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Oceania, as well as the ICDR's staff in Asia. Thara also serves on the Board of Editors of the AAA-ICDR Dispute Resolution Journal, contributing to thought leadership at the intersection of arbitration practice, policy, and innovation. The ICDR is the international division of the American Arbitration Association, the world’s largest provider of arbitration, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution services.
