Sign inThe Disclosure Dilemma: Must We Reveal Every Meal?
Presentation
In the close-knit world of international arbitration, where professional paths crisscross and familiar faces are a constant, where do we draw the line between what should be disclosed and what should not? For example, with an increasing number of challenges based on alleged friendships between arbitrators and counsel, does a casual coffee, a shared lunch or dinner, or even a LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram connection tip the balance?
Join us as we unpack these thorny questions with two leading experts who have shaped the very guidelines that define them. Prof. Bernard Hanotiau, a key architect of the 2004 IBA Guidelines and the driving force behind their revision, and Mrs. Erica Stein, Chair of the 2024 Review Task Force for the Revision of the 2014 Guidelines, will guide us through real-world dilemmas, shedding light on when social ties become conflicts and what this means for arbitration integrity.
Expect a lively and interactive discussion as we navigate the fine line between personal and professional relationships—followed by a rooftop cocktail at our office (weather permitting), where you can forge new connections (disclosure optional).
