Alexandra GOMEZ BRUINEWOUD
Alexandra Gómez Bruinewoud is a senior legal counsel at FIFPro, the international trade union representing 65,000 professional footballers.
Alexandra Gómez Bruinewoud graduated at the University of the Republic (Uruguay), and she holds a Master’s in international Commercial Law from the Erasmus University Rotterdam (the Netherlands).
In 2013, Alexandra joined FIFPRO as a senior legal counsel. Her role involves providing legal assessment to unions – and players directly – on contracts, supporting labour claims, assisting in collective bargaining agreements, assessing stakeholder negotiations, and representing the players and their unions in various forums (e.g. meetings, conferences, lectures).
Since 2017, Alexandra is a judge at the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC). At the time, she was the first woman to hold this responsibility.
Alexandra is a regular lecturer at various Masters and other academic programs in international sports law and football law.
