Chuan Thye TAN
Tan Chuan Thye, SC is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and has extensive experience on international commercial arbitrations covering diverse subject matters in the investment, natural resources, corporate, financial and engineering areas. The engagements have involved international parties and where the governing law has been both common law and civil law.
Chuan Thye has recently been sitting more regularly as an arbitrator in institutional proceedings, both as sole arbitrator and as part of a tribunal. In addition, Chuan Thye is on the panel of arbitrators of the SIAC, HKIAC, ICC and KLRAC.
Chuan Thye has been recognised and ranked by various publications, including Chambers, for his work as counsel in the international arbitration proceedings for over a decade. He is described as “a very safe pair of hands, analytical and very measured in his approach, clearly on the ascent and developing a sterling reputation”. The Legal 500 Asia Pacific also recognised Chuan Thye as a “very experienced, calm and balanced, an excellent communicator”. He is also general editor of the Halsbury's Laws of Singapore volume on Banking & Finance.
