Crina BALTAG
Crina Baltag is Associate Professor in International Arbitration at Stockholm University, academic director of the LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration Law (ICAL), Senior Visiting Fellow at University of Oxford, Arbitrator and Attorney-at-Law, with over twenty years of experience, and specialized in commercial and investment arbitration, private and public international law and ADR.
Crina regularly sits as arbitrator in international and domestic arbitrations, ad-hoc and international, including with ICC, LCIA, SIAC, SCC, VIAC, FAI, CCIR-Romania and under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules etc. Crina has been appointed as sole, co-arbitrator and presiding arbitrator.
Crina is member of the Romanian Bar Association since 2004, having practiced as transactional and disputes counsel.
Crina often receives legal expert appointments in both commercial and investment arbitrations.
Crina received her Ph.D. degree from Queen Mary University of London with the thesis on the 'Notion of Investor under the Energy Charter Treaty', subsequently published by Wolters Kluwer in 2012. She obtained her LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration Law from Stockholm University and her M.Sc. in International Business from the Academy of Economic Studies, Bucharest. Crina is originally from Romania where she received her bachelor degree in Law. Crina was the Secretary General of Amcham Brazil Arbitration and Mediation Centre, having lived and worked in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo for over seven years.
Crina is member of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Institute (SCC) Board and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
Crina speaks fluently and can conduct arbitrations in Romanian, English and Portuguese. Crina has knowledge of French and Swedish.
