Daniela DE AVILEZ DEMôRO
Daniela de Avilez Demôro has over 30 years of experience as a lawyer, C-Level executive, board member, and, since 2022, as an arbitrator.
She served for 20 years as General Counsel for Latin America at major multinational companies in the automotive sector, also leading departments such as Government Relations, Compliance, Sustainability, and Third Sector Foundations.
As a partner at a prestigious law firm, she led strategic projects in foreign investments, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and the construction of manufacturing plants in Brazil, handling international disputes and complex, global, and interdisciplinary matters.
From 2012 to 2016, she was a member of the Advisory Board of the Women Leaders for Sustainability Network, appointed by then Minister of the Environment Izabella Teixeira, and participated in COP 21 in 2015, as part of the Brazilian Government delegation during the signing of the Paris Agreement.
In 2021-2022, she was appointed Special Advisor to the Secretary of Finance of the State of Rio de Janeiro, leading the negotiation and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NASDAQ (NY) for the creation of a carbon market trade platform in Rio de Janeiro.
Daniela holds a Law degree from PUC-Rio, a postgraduate degree in Civil Procedure (PUC-Petrópolis), and pursued a Master’s in Constitutional Law and State Theory (PUC-Rio). She is currently defending her thesis at the Université d’Angers, where she is preparing to become a PhD applicant. She also holds the Certificat d’Université Pratique de l’Arbitrage (UVSQ Paris Saclay, 2024).
She is a Board Member of the Brazilian Institute of Circular Economy (IBEC) and Co-Founder and Co-President of the Global Arbitration and Sustainability Forum (GLAS-Forum), a think tank that brings together international experts to discuss the intersection of arbitration and ESG, fostering knowledge exchange and building solutions for dispute prevention and resolution in the field.
