Eleonora COELHO
Eleonora Coelho is the founding partner of Eleonora Coelho Advogados. She has over 20 years of experience practicing in pre-litigation cases, representing clients in arbitration proceedings, and acting as co-arbitrator, chair or sole arbitrator in several proceedings, both national and international.
She holds a master’s degree in Litigation, Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution Methods from Université Paris II Panthéon Assas, and a Bachelor of Law degree from University of São Paulo.
She is a permanent member of the of the Advisory Council of the Arbitration and Mediation Center of the Brazil-Canada Chamber of Commerce (CAM-CCBC). She currently serves as vice-president of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Arbitraje (ALARB), member of the Board of Directors of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr), member of the Board of Advisors of Delos Dispute Resolution, and member of the Jus Mundi Mission Committee.
Eleonora is listed in the roster of arbitrators of several arbitral institutions in Brazil and abroad.
She has authored various publications and is frequently invited to speak at conferences in Brazil and abroad on topics related to arbitration and dispute resolution. From 2020 to 2021, Eleonora was a visiting professor at Sciences Po École de Droit de Paris, teaching a course on the “LL.M. in Transnational Arbitration & Dispute Settlement” program, and she was a guest lecturer at the Paris Arbitration Academy in 2019.
Besides other relevant previous institutional roles, she is former president of the CAM-CCBC, former vice-president of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAR) and former treasurer of the Brazilian Institute of Construction Law (IBDIC). Furthermore, Eleonora was a member of the commission of jurists designated by the Brazilian Senate to amend the Brazilian Arbitration Act, resulting in the enactment of Law No. 13,129/2015.
