Elise SALERNO
Elise Salerno is a Managing Director at Ankura based in London. She has 20 years of experience in the construction industry, specializing in dispute resolution and avoidance, commercial management, and contract administration. Elise is a qualified civil engineer and an experienced quantity surveyor, providing expert services in both quantum and delay, on large scale international construction projects. She recently qualified as an expert determiner.
Elise has worked across a wide range of sectors both in the UK and internationally, including infrastructure (rail, metro, highway, airport), energy (windfarm, nuclear, LNG terminal, power plant, aqueduct), oil and gas (oil field, subsea pipeline), marine (FPSO, drilling rig), defense (submarine), and building sector (university, research center, hotel). Within these sectors, she has supported a variety of public government, owner, contractor, or subcontractor clients in the UK, Poland, Norway, France, Italy, Greece, Denmark, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, South Africa, Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Peru, Brazil, Korea, and Australia.
Elise provides independent expert advice and produces forensic analysis in matters of quantum or complex claims such as prolongation, disruption (productivity studies), valuation of variations, re-measurement, defective works, and termination. She has experience in providing support at the various stages of the project lifecycle, from inception to contract administration, to final account and negotiation of settlement. She can also conduct delay analysis, including critical path analysis, causation analysis, and forensic review of progress reports.
Elise’s opinion has been used for international arbitration, mediation, negotiation, and claims management. In addition to her technical background and work experience, she is fluent in French and Italian, both her native languages, as well as English. She can read and speak basic Spanish and German.
