Emmanuel JOLIVET


General Counsel

Seasoned chief legal officer with more than 20 years of business and public law, directorship and management, and international relations experience in a multijurisdictional environment, Mr Emmanuel Jolivet currently serves as the General Counsel of the International Chamber of Commerce® and of the International Court of Arbitration®. He is responsible for advising ICC, its subsidiaries and affiliates, and the Court on legal matters, designing legal strategies and implementing decisions. The scope of his responsibilities covers more than 100 jurisdictions and a large variety of legal areas including all aspects of corporate work; compliance and in particular elaborating and enforcing policies, handling international sanctions and embargoes including applications for licenses from regulators, managing the whistleblowing framework; risk management; insurance; litigation; data protection; and transactional work.

Mr Emmanuel Jolivet serves as board member and officer of various companies and trusts in France and abroad. He is a member of a number of professional and academic organisations.

Alongside his in-house role, Mr Emmanuel Jolivet has held various academic positions at universities in France and abroad, including as Associate Professor of law, and teaches regularly. In this capacity he participated actively in mentorship programmes for students. He is the author and editor of numerous articles and books on dispute resolution and business law.

Mr Emmanuel Jolivet is French. He studied law in France and the UK and holds a PhD in private law. He is fluent in French and English.
