Hakim BOULARBAH
Hakim Boularbah is partner and heads the International Litigation and Arbitration Practice of Loyens & Loeff Belgium. He specializes in the field of complex and international dispute resolution. He is recognized as an expert in civil and commercial litigation and arbitration at national, European and international levels (Legal 500, Chambers, Leaders League, Who’s Who Legal Litigation, Arbitration and Asset recovery). Hakim has broad experience both as (sole, chair or co-) arbitrator as well as counsel in national and international commercial arbitrations (CEPANI, ICC, OHADA, ad hoc, ...), especially in contract and corporate disputes.
Hakim has also an extensive practice in all types of arbitration-related court proceedings, especially setting aside and enforcement of international arbitral awards, including investment treaty awards against sovereign states.
Finally, Hakim is Professor of civil procedure law at the University of Liège (ULg) and is a member of the CEPANI (the Belgian Arbitration Institute) and the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. He regularly speaks at conferences and is the author of numerous publications on judicial law, private international law and arbitration. He is a frequent contributor to the GAR Know How Guide on Challenging and Enforcing Arbitration Awards.
