Hjordis Birna HJARTARDOTTIR


Counsel

Hjördís is counsel at the Secretariat of the ICC Court of Arbitration in Paris, where she heads the case management team dealing primarily with cases from Central and Eastern Europe. In her role as counsel at the ICC Court, Hjördís supervises a high volume of arbitration cases, including investor-state and emergency arbitrator cases, and is involved in the scrutiny of arbitral awards. She has specific experience dealing with construction disputes. Prior to joining the ICC Court in 2017, Hjördís worked in two reputable law firms in Reykjavik over a six-year period, where she focused on commercial, corporate and administrative law issues as well as litigation. She has litigated numerous civil and commercial cases before the District Courts in Iceland and represented clients before various governmental agencies. Hjördís is qualified to practice law in Iceland (2010) and holds an LLM in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) from Geneva Law School & the Geneva Graduate Institute (2016).
