Jean-François LE GAL

Jean-François specialises in international arbitration and multi-jurisdictional proceedings, frequently with a link to Africa and the Middle East. He is qualified as a Barrister (England & Wales), an Avocat au Barreau de Paris and a Registered Legal Practitioner with full rights of audience before the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts (DIFC Courts) (Dubai). He acts as counsel/advocate in international arbitration proceedings in English and/or French. He also sits as an arbitrator and has acted as Chairman of an Arbitral Tribunal, Sole Arbitrator and Co-Arbitrator. He is registered on the List of Arbitrators of ICC France, the LCIA, the DIFC-LCIA, DIAC, CRCICA and ADCCAC. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and a member of the IAI, the ICCA and the Comité Français de l'Arbitrage.

He also has experience in handling cases before the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts (DIFC Courts) and has appeared before the Dubai World Tribunal. He lectures on Arbitration at the Paris Bar School, Comparative & International Dispute Resolution at Paris II Panthéon-Assas University, and Comparative Contract Law at Paris-Dauphine International University (London campus). He is fluent in English and French, and has a good working knowledge of Spanish.
