José María ALONSO PUIG
José María is specialised in litigation relating to civil and commercial contracts (particularly agreements for the purchase of assets and rights, construction and engineering contracts and distribution, concession and agency agreements); corporate disputes (company acquisitions and shareholder disputes); disputes relating to financial agreements and transactions (loans, guarantees, deposits, etc.) as well as insurance and insolvency.
He has acted in more than 200 proceedings before the various Spanish courts (with national and international components) as counsel for one of the parties; he has collaborated on the Spanish law aspects of proceedings before judges and courts in Portugal, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Holland, Italy, Israel, Morocco and Australia; and he has acted as counsel for some of the parties in numerous domestic and international arbitration proceedings.
As an arbitrator, he has acted in more than 200 proceedings (either as sole arbitrator; as arbitrator appointed by one of the parties; or as chairman of the Arbitral Tribunal) both domestic (ad hoc, Madrid Court of Arbitration, Spanish Court of Arbitration and Civil and Commercial Court of Arbitration-CIMA) and international (ICC Court of Arbitration, LCIA, AAA/ICDR, ICSID and TAS/CAS); institutions of whose respective lists of arbitrators, among others, he is a member.
