Lefa MONDON

Lefa specialises in public international law as well as international litigation and arbitration. She has substantial experience representing states, individuals, and organisations in complex international disputes, with a particular focus on cases before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), and in investment arbitration. Lefa’s practice covers a wide range of sectors, including international trade, sanctions, environmental law, human rights, and maritime disputes.

She has worked as counsel, adviser, or assistant in various types of arbitration, both commercial and disputes between foreign investors and states, governed by diverse procedural and substantive laws, including ad hoc arbitration, UNCITRAL, ICC, ICSID, and more. In addition, Lefa has experience advising government entities and governmental organisations on drafting legislation, notably regarding dispute settlement.

An active member of the international legal community, Lefa is involved in pro bono work, including representing victims in war crimes cases from Syria and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and advising on accountability for crimes committed in Ukraine. She currently co-chairs the dispute resolution group of the African Society of International Law.
