Shashank Garg is a seasoned dispute resolution practitioner skilled in international commercial arbitration, sports arbitration, construction law arbitration, civil and commercial mediation and litigation. He is an Advocate with over 15 years of practice before the Supreme Court of India, the High Court of Delhi and other judicial and quasi-judicial forums. He often represents clients as a Counsel before Arbitral Tribunals in ad-hoc and institutional arbitration under all leading institutional rules (ICC, SIAC, LCIA, SCC, DIAC, HKIAC, AAA, etc.) and also sits as an Arbitrator.

Currently, he is an independent counsel based in New Delhi where he handles commercial litigation and arbitration verticals. He is a counsel for Gujarat High Court and Allahabad University in Supreme Court and is also a panel Counsel for GAIL (India) Limited, Special Counsel for Hindustan Copper Limited and Delhi Development Authority.

He serves as a Joint Secretary of the Society for Construction Law and is also appointed as the Co-Chair of Society of Constriction Law India’s Young Leaders Group. In 2018, he was nominated as a Member from India to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. He has served as the ‘Regional Chapter Coordinator’ for India - ICC YAF from 2017-2019. Nominated from the Delhi High Court, he is also a member of the Arbitration Committee of the Delhi International Arbitration Centre, New Delhi.

He has edited two books namely ‘ Arbitrator’s Handbook’ Published by Lexis Nexis in 2022 and “Alternative Dispute Resolution: The Indian Perspective” published by Oxford University Press in 2018. Along with Prof. Martin Hunter he has also co-authored, a chapter in the “Handbook on International Arbitration” published by Kluwer Publishing. He has regularly been invited as a speaker at various dispute resolution events across the globe. He is a regular contributor of print and electronic publications on Dispute Resolution.
