Michael Arada GREENOP


Senior Associate

Michael Greenop is a Senior Associate in Gary Born’s international arbitration team at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, specialising in international commercial arbitration and investment treaty arbitration. Michael has experience in international arbitrations under a variety of institutional rules and in jurisdictions spanning Europe, Asia, The Americas, Africa and the Middle East. He also has experience advising governments and arbitral institutions on the drafting of arbitration legislation and arbitration rules including the arbitrateAD Arbitration Rules.

Before joining WilmerHale, Michael worked at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP in London and as an employed barrister at Bankside Chambers in New Zealand, where he assisted Sir David A.R. Williams KNZM QC with his international arbitration practice.

Michael is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and was admitted as a Fellow of the Arbitrators’ and Mediators’ Institute of New Zealand. He serves as the Co-Chair of the Task Forces and Coordinator of the Rules Standing Committee of the Hague Court of Arbitration for Aviation. He also co-hosts the annual Africa Arbitration Academy's Flagship Training Programme at WilmerHale. He previously co-founded the pre-eminent group for young arbitration practitioners in New Zealand, Young AMINZ.
