Orlando Cabrera studied law in Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America, and is fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. Orlando counsels governments and corporate investors in international dispute resolution across borders and languages at Hogan Lovells. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and former board secretary of CIArb’s North American branch; the vice president to the ICC Mexico Investment Arbitration Committee, an ICC Mexico delegate to the ICC World Commission on Arbitration and ADR and a former ICC Committee Member on the Proposal of Arbitrators; and a listed arbitrator for the Center of Arbitration and Conciliation of Panama (CeCAP), the Center of National and International Conciliation and Arbitration of the Lima Chamber of Commerce (CCL), the International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (CICA), and the Tashkent International Arbitration Centre (TIAC). Orlando represents clients in CAM, CANACO, ICC, ICDR, ICSID, LCIA, and UNCITRAL arbitrations in mining, energy, telecommunications, finance, construction, transport, national security, real estate assets, and government contracting. Prior to joining the Hogan Lovells Mexico City office, Orlando started in the international arbitration practice of the firm's Miami office. Orlando also previously served as a legal intern in the New York State Supreme Court.
