Peter GRIFFIN
Peter Griffin is the Founder of Slaney Advisors, a London-based Emerging Markets consultancy specialising in international arbitration, arbitration award monetization, and sovereign debt recovery. Over the past 15 years, Peter has participated in several landmark transactions relating to sovereign arbitration awards, including the largest arbitration award monetisation measured by face value, as well as by purchase price consideration. In that capacity, Peter regularly interacts with a large number of market participants who fund or otherwise invest in large international arbitration awards and is a thought leader in this new and emerging speciality. Peter has also advised on the successful settlement of numerous judgments and awards against many sovereign debtors, including, Belize, Guinea, Libya, Equatorial Guinea, Iraq and Egypt. Peter has also successfully represented sovereigns, including the United Arab Emirates and the Slovak Republic. Peter was previously a partner in the international arbitration departments of Baker Botts and Shearman & Sterling.
