Peter RIžNIK
Peter is an experienced international arbitration practitioner with a primary focus on arbitrator work, in particular in the Central Europe and CEE regions. He is based in Vienna, Austria and is a national of Slovenia.
Peter has extensive experience serving as counsel, arbitrator and tribunal secretary in commercial and investment arbitrations. He has worked on cases conducted under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, VIAC, SCC, Ljubljana Arbitration Centre, Finnish Arbitration Institute and in ad-hoc arbitrations under UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.
In the past, Peter was active in private practice as counsel, as a full-time tribunal secretary, in an arbitral institution as well as in UN-organizations, including in the fields of international commercial law and the law of outer space. He is one of the founders and a board member of ArbCEE, the Arbitration Association of Central and Eastern Europe and he sits on the European Regional Committee of the Campaign for Greener Arbitrations. He is a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR and its taskforce on combating corruption. He is also active in academia and serves as a habilitated lecturer at the University of Maribor in his home country Slovenia.
Peter has regularly been listed by Who's Who Legal as one of the most highly regarded arbitration practitioners in Austria and the region of EMEA, most recently as a global elite thought leader.
